Conclusion—The Armor of God
>> Thursday, March 22, 2012
Putting on the armor of God is all about Jesus. If
you look at each piece of armor, it is linked to Jesus. Jesus prepared the way.
He is calling each of us to be a light of love and hope, leading others to Him.
Belt of Truth: “Jesus said to him, ‘I’m the way,
the truth, and the life.’” (John 14:6a)
Breastplate of Righteousness: “For He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God
in
Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Boots of Peace: “For He Himself is our peace ...”
(Ephesians 2:14)
Shield of Faith: “... looking unto Jesus, the
author and finisher of our faith ... (Hebrews 12:2)
Helmet of Salvation: “‘Salvation is found in no one
else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be
saved.’” (Acts 4:11-12 NIV)
Sword of the Spirit – The Word of God: “And the
Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of
the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
In Ephesians Paul ends his teaching on the armor of
God, emphasizing the importance of prayer.
Prayer brings us into direct communication with the Father.
Others can pray for us, and that is important,
but it is our personal one-on-one time with God which enables us to go into
battle and live a victorious, overcoming life, fully dress in the WHOLE ARMOR Of GOD.

Excellence job. Daily prayer. Prayer throughout the day. He wants to be involved in the small things, too, not just the big ones. Loved this blog. Blessings,
Rita- what a wonderful series! He's provided soooo much for us to live- and I mean LIVE- in this world- Thanks for sharing all your nuggets of insight!!!! hugs-
Thanks for the great reminder! This past week, I hate to say it, but I've let my prayer time slide. I still "took the time" but my mind refused to quiet. So I listened to praise music instead, which is great *in addition* to pray, not in place of it. :) Today, I asked for God's help. Yeah, I know, should've done that on Wednesday, or Tuesday, or Monday, but you know the cliche, better late than never. :) God's patient grace never ceases to amaze me!
